April 24, which is the second Sunday in Easter, is also the Divine Mercy Sunday. The Vatican decreed on May 5, 2000, five days after the canonization of St. Faustina, that the Second Sunday of Easter would henceforth be known as Divine Mercy Sunday. In one of the revelations of Jesus Christ to St. Faustina, Jesus gave St. Faustina nine intentions for which to pray the Chaplet beginning on Good Friday and ending on the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday. This weekend is Palm Sunday which marks the beginning of Holy Week. The blessing of the palms for the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, April 10 will be outside of the church. The liturgy will begin there and will continue inside the church. The blessing of the palms for all the other weekend Masses will be inside the church.
