Check with your company to see if it makes corporate matching gifts. Many large companies such as Apple and Google match donations that their employees give to nonprofit organizations.
Remember the parish in your estate planning. Make a bequest to "the Roman Catholic Bishop of San Jose for the benefit of St. Joseph of Cupertino Parish."
Contribute to the parish endowment. In 2015 a number of generous parishioners established a St. Joseph of Cupertino parish endowment with the Catholic Community Foundation of Santa Clara County. This endowment, similar to those of universities and our own St. Joseph of Cupertino School, provides future financial security by preserving the principal forever, while continuing to generate income through interest (4% annually). Note that the Catholic Foundation was set up as a charitable entity separate from the Diocese of San Jose and foundation funds cannot be mingled with those of the diocese. Online gifts meet the same security standards as online banking. Just be sure to use a secure internet connection (not a public wifi spot).
Processing and reporting is much faster and more efficient, and there's no need to ever collect or store parishioner account information.
